Although he took it like a champ he got his welcome to college football in the form of a LB run blitz that not only seperated Tyrell from the ball but, I think may have dislodged his splean.

I was on the sideline and as soon as it happened (even though no one said it) all you could hear is "Welcome to 1A football Mr. Fenroy". Tyrell bounced back well and if I remember correctly Mike had a big game against Texas, outran some all american safties.

Tyrell is a great back but, come on; even Jim Brown fumbled a little.

Good luck Mr. Fenroy; We Are Rooting (SP?) For You _
I think that Mike had a 60+ yd TD called back in that game

He hits the hole and hits it hard however he is not going to run over a 250 lb LB or out run an NFL safety. I don't want to compare him to a future hall of famer but I will lol He runs like Emmit Smith...Smith was never flashy but he was patient and hit the hole that his O-Line provided. Can Fenroy get big gains in the pros ? Yes! But go back and look at the highlights all of his big runs came after the O-Line opened HUGE holes (look at the ULM game). With that said he will get you 4 yards a carry and not lose you the game with fumbles. I think he can have a very good pro career but like Patrick Cobb from North Texas I think it will take sometime to find his nitch. _
I think you are right. If his work ethic and attitude stay right... and he has shown no signs of it ever changing... he will be given opportunities and he will capitalize on them. I don't see Tyrell as a "great slasher"... but of all his abilities... that is the RB style that he has to manipulate to be successful in the NFL. He certainly isn't a "power back"... just because he's built out of stone. He rates high on all of the combined RB attributes... no single one topping out on the NFL standards list unfortunately. Collegiately, Tyrell took all that he has and essentially north-south'd it and ran for daylight. His overall speed to the open seam, his simple shift and burst, produced in college.

When you have his run characteristics, but come in a smaller package (and aren't Dalton Hilliard or Barry Sanders... with hydraulic pistons for legs) you have to be able to cut, stop on a dime, re-accelerate and avoid the direct smashes. NFL scouts didn't see Tyrell with that required NFL skill for his size. I still think, due to his combined set of abilities (both physical and character), he was undervalued... once again. All the Tyrell's of the world seem to need in life is a chance... and he has one.

Fenroy was charged with four lost fumbles in 868 career touches (808 rushes, 60 catches) at UL.

In another interesting note in that 2005 game at Texas: Desormeaux's first career pass slipped through a receiver's hands in the second quarter and was intercepted by Aaron Ross.

I read somewhere that Fenroy has the best chance of making a roster... I was a bit surprised as I felt Dezormeaux had the best shot.

Good luck to all three of you. I hope you'll be "swaggin" on sundays.
