that Fenroy, Desormeaux, and Chery signed. Is it a set amount or weekly?
What about Colemen getting invited to the Vikings camp, does he still get a small amount or does he first have to make the team.
Also what are practice squad salaries and what is the league minimum?
You've got to remember that these guys are playing for money now. If the Saints really liked Fenroy, they would have drafted him. They have no reason to give him a break because he's a local guy. They want the best players out there.
Guys like Fenroy will make that negative a positive and work harder to prove the doubters wrong.
He's got a tough fight to make Chicago's 53-man roster, but he can do it. Just needs to make the most of every opportunity and inch ahead of the other Adrian Peterson and Garrett Wolfe. The good news is those guys have to compete for a spot just like him.

Not all that unusual. Again, remember that these deals are largely non-guaranteed. The bulk of any money is tied to whether he makes the 53-man roster. You still get paid on the practice squad, but not near as much.
In all honesty, I think Desormeaux will make the 53-man roster. The Jaguars put together a good plan for him, and I think they're excited about his potential. Now it's Michael's job to make it happen.
I think Chery has a strong shot because of the personnel around him. Fenroy will face a bigger challenge because the Bears already have four RBs on the roster.
Here's more of my thoughts on my blog:

Since the time that Carl Smith --former UL coach that I was on the staff with went to the NFL--I call and give him my sneak picks of the year---all UL players---some have been great like Mitchell and the other NFLers--He called me and said that he talked to Mike and he was at dinner with the new wife---thought he was going to be a Brownie---Tater was looking at the ULM tape as we talked and did like him!!!!
The reason is that Fenroy isn't s smasher, hes a pierre thomas style runner and they already have that. I think that Fenroy is in a good situation because I don't think the bears are sold on Wolfe or Adrian Peterson and if he comes in and does what we know he can do, I'd guess that he's gonna give them a run for their money.
