  1. NFL, NBA, MLB Hopes for UL football on the clock today

After providing most of the ammo for one of college football's top offenses last season, former UL players Jason Chery, Tyrell Fenroy and Michael Desormeaux are ready to take the next step in their careers.

And today is when the interest for Cajun Nation will be peeked as all three are viable options to have their name called during the final five rounds of the NFL draft.

Crazy thing is the Saints could use all 3! We could use a bruiser in Fenroy, a return guy in Cherry, and we can take on a project Safety in Des. But of course that won't happen. But may, just maybe, the Fenroy thing will happen.

Fenroy will not be a bruiser in the NFL. He is only 198 pounds.

No way. Where did you come up with that number? He's listed as 205 on NFL.com. On Proday at UL he weight 208. I guess them saying that he is a speedy back with raw power doesn't mean anything either. Have you seen him run? He doesn't dance around LBs he runs over them. But I guess your right??????

Where did I get that number?

Fenroy said he weighed 194 on Pro Day. He said he's now at 198. He would like to get up to 200 or 205 by training camp. That won't be easy because he's at no more than 4 percent body fat right now.

I have no idea where those weights came from. Some outlets had him at 208 pounds during the year, kind of like him being 5-10. More like 5-8. Same thing about Desormeaux, who was listed at 235 pounds in the media guide in the fall and was never more than 225.

Gotcha.....well it looks like we passed on Fenroy anyway. I doubt he will be there in round 7 but you never know. If we don't get him I hope he goes somewhere that he will be given a good look and a fair shot
