Well, I enjoyed the Ark St game and the HC game in football. Those were pretty fun. I also enjoyed the Tulane baseball game here in NOLA.

I especially enjoyed ignoring the 2nd half of the basketball season.

Other than the buzz I got before the game and the 2 out rally in toop 5, the game sucked. Wilborn's outing was AWFUL, Griffen looked clueless, again.

Verry disappointing to say the least, hope this weekend in Troy will be much better

Not that Thad has a good bat but I think your right. Those pitches were huge dropping curve balls on the inside edge of the plate. I don't think many would have touched it.

I was pleasantly surprised with the T.V. broadcast. I thought for the most part those guys did a good job and kept it balanced and interesting.

Very concerned with both Hawkins and Fontenot. At one point Hawkins was sitting down close to the trainer after he came out and Fontenot was in obvious pain when he crossed the plate.

Well it seems like maybe Benzel is ready to go, hopefully full time. Keefer can catch and we can move Long to DH at certain times. Right now Whipple is hitting it better than Hawkins, so if Smith is gonna stay in RF (not too sure he is ready for full time) Hawkins and Whipple are in the mix for 1B and the DH role has a few guys that can fill it.

I was happy to see Bostick get a few RBIs as well. The kid had struggled at the plate most of the year. Still, its only one game.

Great to see Hicks bang that triple. MAybe he could play some third and get going. As a senior that would be great for him.

    My thoughts on the game:

1.) Griffen can't hit, but it seems that he is slowly going to come around. He is starting to actually swing the bat and make some contact.

2.) It was great to see Hicks get his first hit of the season. That monkey on his back had to be getting pretty heavy.

3.) Pitching wasn't good but it was decent. Just gave up a few long balls.

4.) LSU is also a young team with another highly rated recruiting class coming in.

5.) We needs more guys with Fontenot's attitude. He's got that firey attitude and doesnt back down from anyone.

6.) The Pontiff classic needs to be an early season weekend tournament at Zephyr field with LSU, UL, Tulane, and one other in state school. That is one nice stadium and a pretty good atmosphere. It would definately sell out on a weekend, if they pulled in 6,601 for a mid week game.

I did not go to the game, but I noticed something in the box score that I have seen too much of this season...walks. Our pitchers give up too many of them and go deep in the count often. This is really hurting us.

Especially when we out hit them and lose by 4

Walks have hurt us all year long. Cut down on the walks and we probably have at least 5 more wins. The pitchers tend to walk batters early in the game and the team falls behind, then has to fight back.
