A succesful running game is predicated on PASSING the ball up the court.Transition defense cannot out run effective passing. They can guard a dribbbler all day long. End to end without the ball hitting the ground is ideal. If you grab a defensive rebound and wait the for the point guard to come to the ball, the window the beat them down the court has closed.

He's coming home.
Good points on passing the ball. That does not mean we have a point guard who can make those passes. We also may not have the inside guys who can make the proper outlet passes off of rebounds. That's because we don't get enough rebounds in many cases. This is not to say I am not excited about trying to play at a faster pace. I think we need to. I just don't think it will necessarily relate to a tremendous improvment, some improvement is possible.
Food for thought: Do you really think the head coach will let an assistant coach have control over an aspect of the team (ie: offense)?
He did not last year...
After seeing the youtube video, I do not think that this coach would put himself in the position where he had no input on the offense, I think that offense is Lees weakness therefore he will turn it over to this guy...
Don't forget we don't have anyone that can score consistently. You are not going to go from 60 points a game to 85. Lee will be to paranoid to let anyone else help him coach.
My question is, who in this business twitters his coaching status. Really if this guy was offered the job it would really be kept under the wrapps until it was made public. I hope for Coach Lee's sake he has not hired this guy cause he sounds like a joker. Thats my two cents.
It's starting to add up. Do you think a big man like Jeremy Barr would fit well into a run & gun offense??.....and guess who is leaving. If Kevin Keathley is coming in to run the offense, it just may be enough for me to consider renewing my season tickets..........
It's possible. Although the norm in football, it usually doesn't happen in basketball. Lee strikes me as someone who isn't confident enough to allow someone else to run the offense... but he may comprehend the reality of his future and do whatever it takes at this juncture. If he knows what is best for himself... he will allow it, hopefully succeed with it, and leverage it. Personally, I think he has no future in basketball if he does not.
Correct, it is hard to have an effective transition game if we're getting outrebounded badly. You have to do it on the defensive end. Also, the PG HAS to come to the outlet pass and create a passing lane in response to Jumbo. You don't go to him, he comes to the ball and pushes it up the court so you have to have a PG who has the speed to do it and the understanding of how to do it.
