Stupidity comes in all shapes and sizes but it's not their fault.

A couple of causes . . . there are more.

    Great town
Bad marketing by trying to market the town instead of the school.

My guess is that coach Keathley has done that for the last time, now that he knows the history.

Maybe that is correct and Byron Smith has been doing something else the last couple of years.
Two years ago, Smith was coaching DeAndre Jordan's AAU team, the Houston Swoosh. Jordan later committed to A&M when Billy Gillispie was there and signed even after he left for Kentucky.

Smith has said that Gillispie was going to add him to the coaching staff. A&M coach Mark Turgeon ended up hiring him as an assistant. Then Jordan left for the NBA after one year.

After that happened, it appears that Smith was shifted from an assistant to a senior athletic assistant at A&M. He's now part of the men's basketball "support staff."

If he is hired it sounds like our asst. coach would be more talented than the head coach. GREAT!

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!! We currently have the 'athletes' that would be conducive to running the 'run-n-gun' system. I said throughout the season that our practices probably had some really exciting 3 on 2 fast break drills because of our athleticism, but the coach just did not know how to incorporate the athleticism into the gameplan. I would LOOOOVE to see the run-n-gun implemented if LEE would just let this guy do his thing. The first time I saw Missouri play this year, it infuriated me all over again that we have to sit and watch the most ridiculously boring offensive scheme imaginable AND STILL LOSE 20 GAMES. I hope this works out. I personally would like to see high pace transition game mixed in with DISCIPLINED half-court continually rotating offense with multiple options that MAKES THE DEFENSE WORK for 25 to 30 seconds every time the fast break is not there. With Lee's offense, the defense gets about 25 seconds to put their hands on the knees and catch their breath.
GEEZ, we need to get this guy.

From the twitter site, it appears that Coach Keathley has been offered the job and plans to accept. I still wonder why he wants to give up a head coaching position. Has the CBA been shut down?

Because he knows Lee is out in a year, if he comes in and turns some heads maybe he thinks he has a shot
