To be honest, the Xbox One sales mystery continues. As you all know, the sales of Xbox One is lagging behind Sony’s PS4 by several million units. Microsoft is expanding to several new markets with Xbox One this month. According to the latest report from Famitsu, Microsoft Xbox One sold 23,562 units in its first week on the Japanese market. They comment it as the worst console launch and the numbers are less than half of the number of Xbox 360 systems sold in Japan. Also, it is important to note that Japan always remains a tougher marker for Microsoft as people over there have strong brand attraction towards their home console company Sony. Phil Spencer commented the following regarding Xbox One launch in Japan, “The Japanese development community remains incredibly important to us, and we’re continuing to invest there,”-“We’re having great conversations with people. We’re not announcing anything, but I can say both RPGs and specifically the Japanese developers are really important to our ecosystem.” Source: Famitsu, Polygon
