UL honored its 1988 baseball team, the program's first to reach an NCAA Regional, before Saturday's game against South Alabama during Alumni Weekend.

The 1988 team won the American South Conference Tournament title to advance to its first regional under first-year coach Mike Boulanger.

Former Cajun baseball players Lionel Kleinpeter and Leonard Kleinpeter threw out Saturday's first pitch.
