    Default UL Offense: Player Packages

Is it just me, or does it seem like coaches rely more on player packages to get advantages over just sticking with individuals and allowing them to get into a rhythm?
Several times on Saturday's game, as well as, in the past three years, I notice that packages of players are changed play to play. Many times, for example i'll use Zo Harris will run a handoff 5-8 yards, only to be taken out to bring in a set of new players. And this happens with any and all skilled positions. I understand exploiting mismatches but it just seems if you just gashed em, run the ball again, let that boy get in a rhythm or until they stop that.
Am I wrong in thinking in that? Please educate me. Im open to changing my mind.

Zo Harris was running the ball well, wow, loss for words...

How about this, give the damn ball to Harris.. He ran only 12 times.....

Agree 100% It seems like we try to get too cute or we just outcoach ourselves. Also did anyone noticed the slot gunner on punts was UNCOVERED on every punt I saw. Seemed like we could have just thrown the ball to him easily. And how do we block so poorly on returns? Hud is special teams guy, right?

This game reminded me of the Arkansas game in that we could have run the ball but good drives were stalled due to poor play calling. Once they opened it up 24-7 to start the second half, we abandoned had to abandon the original game plan.

Well as the Watch ESPN color guy said over and over the the Cajuns are not built for comebacks, they are built for strike early and sustain.

We did abandon run with score but we do this regardless of score and point in game

If we get this out of our D and O, 6-6 is not far fetched. Especially if 1-3 going into conf games happens, which it most likely will be.

At this point 9-3 is still achievable (hell 10-2 because I think the players will be ____ed at themselves), but we have to see the Cajuns from the past three years, not the Cajuns we saw last Saturday night.

    The last 5 games....

    2-3 record.

Wins over a bad SWAC school, an average Tulane squad.

Losses to ULM, Tech, and South Alabama...3 of our biggest recruiting foes.

2-5 record, going back to ULM game, is staring us in the face right now.

Anybody care to guess what the common theme will be as to why?
