It may be time to re-evaluate what we have with Broadway. We all know his performance was a little shaky last week vs. Southern. Those who really paid attention saw a lot of bad throws and decisions. And his Touchdowns were more or less just jump balls that don't require any skill besides lofting the ball to the that tall guy over there.
Brooks Haack may have flopped against South Alabama last year but the kid was just that, a kid. A true freshmen thrown into the fire. They said all camp that he has looked really sharp and when given the chance in the Southern game, he looked a lot more mature and confident in his abilities and led the offense to a Touchdown.
Look, I'm not saying it's time to completely can Broadway. But maybe, just maybe, we give Haack some playing time before it's garbage time. Broadway needs some competition. Haack is our future at QB the next few years. I'd like to see what he can do now.
It's become painfully clear to me, that Broadway is very one-dimensional. He's a running QB, that happens to toss up a few TDs here and there.
I hope Broadway proves me wrong and everyone in the stands wrong and he really gets after it the rest of the season, but man… you can't convince me otherwise until it actually happens.
