UL Football Swamp Gate Work Detail Coming Soon....

Spoke with Gerald Hebert tonight at the Basketball Ticket P/U. Will meet with him Monday on a possible work detail for the 3rd and 4th Gate of the Swamp Gate project. Will need some sweat equity from Louisiana Fans!!!!!

I KNOW YOU ARE READY, I TOO WISH THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY NOW BUT, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!!
ps Spoke with coach Lee tonight and he had his team sign my son and daughters basketballs! My kids were pumped! My 10 year old daughter told her grand parents, "Man those guys were tall!"

pss Coach Lee signed a ball for my son who had attended the first camp this past summer with Cyp as the coach! Coach Lee very jokingly said quickly do you want another ball? Was classic, and he meant all good! We laughed and he signed!!! Some of the players noticed the "Cyp" autograph also!! They too laughed and one said laughing to his team mates, "I better not sign underneath his autograph!"

    UL 1984, 1999 . . . . Swamp Gate Work Detail Coming Soon....

    1) The SWAMP GATE PROJECT, will need approximately 15-20 volunteers to take down old fencing and fence post! Gerald said that we are waiting on a few things. One is the price of Oil to go down a bit(hopefully not holding our breath on this one), price of oil has more than doubled the price of the fence. Gerald has put out for a few more bids on the fence work to possibly get a better price, has recieved free labor on the brick work, bricks are donated, granite is donated, and the disk(UL) have been donated!! WE ARE WAITING ON FENCE PRICING AND THE GO AHEAD FROM NELSON SCHEX! IF ANYONE WILL BE WILLING TO DONATE THEIR TIME AND BRAUN WHEN A DATE BECOMES AVAILABLE PLEASE SIGN UP EARLY BY POSTING ON THE BOARD!

    2) The WEIGHT ROOM EXPANSION, has received some nice support from the community($$) as of late. Looks like this project could break ground in the near future!

    3) INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY, is being met on this A.M.!!! Dr. A and Gerald are meeting to go over where the architechs are at this point and time!! Dr. A Gerald says, wants this INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY done NOW in a huge way!! Gerald estimates the facility to take 6 months to construct!! States should be complete prior to next season!

+SWAMP GATE Gerald wants done soon so he can sell them, can't sell what he does not have!! Will be complete prior to season 2005!

+WEIGHT ROOM could break ground soon will take some time to build!

+INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY, is a priority of Dr A's, to get done SOON!!!

Gerald said, Two wins to close out the season would be huge in closing the sale on many deals!!!

LOUISIANA, WE NEED THE SEASON TO END WITH A PAIR OF WINS, NOT A STRING OF THREE LOSES!!!!!

Ragin' Cajuns Nelson on KPEL, Questions!!!!!

Start posting your questions for Jay and offer types of help you can donate ($, time, brain power, tools, etc.) to beefing up the UL athletic complex!!!

    1) SwampGate when will it be completed? Money is there (State Farm, Delphi/Alumni match) bricks, mortar, disk, stone toppings, brick labor all donated! Labor to tear down old fence, I am there!!

2)Indoor Practice Facility, breaks ground when? Included in the facility is what (competition grade track, baseball/softball hitting and pitching, basketball, tennis)?

    3) Weight room, Breaking ground? Would be much less expensive to add one more section to the length of the Indoor facility and put the Weight room their and use the old weight room for meeting rooms adding partitions!! SAVES A BUNCH OF MONEY THAT COULD BE USED FOR THE TRACK UPGRADE IN THE INDOOR FACILITY!

    4) Pressure wash stadium and seal!

    5) Lighting upgrade

    6) Street repairs at complex(overlay)

    7) Skyboxes on student side

    8) Lourdes park? baseball

    9) Complete fencing around Cajun Field

    10) Lighted Ragin Cajun logos atop of Cajun Fields large side of stadium on each side of elevator shaft!

    etc.

LIST OTHERS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEE DONE AND OFFER HELP IN WHATEVER WAY YOU CAN!!! IF YOU REMEMBER OTHER PROJECTS GERALD IS WORKING ON LIST IT HERE TO ASK ABOUT THE STATUS!!

Many of us on this board and others have helped with projects, raised money for projects and flat out just done what we are able within each our own constraints!

SwampGate project is an example of something we have ALL worked on to the tune of over $7,000 raised to construct the gateways! Here's hoping to hear something from Gerald any day now!!

    KEEP OUR COLLECTIVE CHINS UP,
    DIG DEEP INTO OUR POCKETS,
AND WIN SOME GAMES AND UL WILL PROSPER!!
