Troy, thanks for your continuing efforts since we spoke via telephone. We'd appreciate updates posted at Delphi since that is where the original pledge challenge originated and many have asked what is presently happening.

I just posted the info on Delphi and included info that I am awaiting a call back from Gerald Hebert on the Advertisement signings on the Existing Gateways, so some of this money could be used with monies raised by our fourms to complete the other Gateways!!!!

HAVE ANYONE ASK THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO DONATE OR SPONSOR A GATE?
DaddyCajun,
My wife and I will be sending a check for $100 for the Swampgate Project. I hope it helps. I'll be mailing it tomorrow.
What are you talking about?Originally posted by snote
huh? they aren't aware (yet) of this site.. well if you ever alert them of it.. make sure they see the photo shoot provided by raginpagin
ps. the delphi site.. no one with any cajun ties has any ownership.. and tomorrow w/out any notice.. the site could disappear
ragin pagin, not only is it "locally" owned, paid for not only money wise by one fellow, but with blood, sweat and tears.. also, one doesn't have to pay a single nickel for any special features (yet) ..grins
nothing personal.. i will deduct that you have not much experience in running a web site.. not that i speak for jon.. although, to me, without you even being aware of it.. your post was like a punch in the gut
"What are you talking about?"
Apparently he does not understand how Delphi works. With 781,714 hits and 169,449 messages posted,I doubt if the Cajun Site on Delphi is going away. Delphi Ragin Cajun site cooperates with other sites including this site. As far as the Swampgate project the moderators on Delphi have pledged at least $1,000 to the gate project. The Cajun fans on the Delphi board support anyone or any site that supports the Cajuns. I cannot imagine it would be any other way.
...Don't think the 'cabeza de mullet' understood your simple request to Daddy Cajun.Originally posted by DestinCajun

I guess he doesn't realize that these sites compose a great affiliation and enjoy much UL fan crossover. No doubt raginpagin is the most feature rich and a true "labor of love". However, Delphi is the oldest and most active. As well as the place where this challenge was funded so it would make common sense to be there too. Win/win by posting it where many can see. Both are quite popular among the Cajun Nation.
snote, don't be such a message board "girlie man"!
The Swampgate project was featured on the top of the Start Page during the summer, along with a link to click where you could sign up to support it. It is still there at http://forums.delphiforums.com/RaginCajuns/start.
For the record the forum host spends about $300 a year in membership fees and webspace to maintain the Delphi forum. The other staff members pay between $15 and $60 a year. Turbine is one of those staff members. In addition to that, other Delphi members have provided tents, food, and drinks for tailgating for several years. Over the years other financial initiatives have started over there to contribute to the Cajun cause in one way or another. Beginning next year we will have to start paying rent on the tailgating space.
The forums are intended to compliment one another. What if Delphi disappeared tomorrow? I would imagine we would relocate over here. This is an outstanding site.
A picture on the internet doesn't do the south side gate justice.
Above the columns and behind the State Farm logo is granite, and when you go through the gate take a moment to look at the details of Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns logo.
Do we have 4 new gates now?
NO!
I know someone on Athletic Advisory Committee (maybe even 2), and I'm sure some of us know some people with the Alumni association. my point is that there's got to be some way to get the word out that this project is going on and needs to be sponsored.
God Bless.
