Have they considered using aluminum instead of iron? Much cheaper and it looks the same.

"I basically agree with you here. I donated to the Swamp Gate and would like to see that project finished. I've got no problem donating a similar amount to further help recruiting as well."
SHOF.
I agree. It's like eating your seed corn to survive. Are we at that stage yet?
DaddyCajun:
Good idea. Hope people will get behind this project. We need all the help we can get right now. I was out this weekend recruiting. I ran into New Orleans, Northwestern State, Southeastern La., and LA. Tech (ALL OUT RECRUITING). I got to talk to most of them about the situation ACT 16 has put everybody in. I can tell you this, they all said the same thing over and over. They (their administration) was not going to let their programs suffer (because of lack of recruiting). Our administration is trying to do the best they can do with a bad situation. We need to find immediate help so we can all finish up our recruiting. GO CAJUNS.

I will attend....just say when.

The gates into the football field "SwampGates" will be made out of the same material as the ones at the Tennis Courts, Baseball and Softball fields. Eventually the whole complex could be done, but at this time the monies is needed more elsewhere!!
DaddyCajun!
First I want to thank "ALL" that contributed to the Swamp Gate Project, many will thank you for years to come!!
The project cost went up drasticly and the $7,000+ raised on RaginPagin, Delphi, Alumni(hat pass), and SGA is simply not enough. However the Bricks, Granit, Circle Logos have ALL been donated to reduce the overall cost.
What we need now is Three things:
1) Labor to tear down the old huricane fences
2) A brick layer that will build the collumns for trade in tickets(or raise the money to pay them)
3) More money to pay for the iron work
Please post any suggestions as I am tapped, two donors that were going to put money to the gateway put their money in recruiting.
Daddy Cajun counting on "U" as you are "LOUISIANA"
ps I as well as many of us would like to complete this prior to the New Orleans Bowl and it is coming fast.
pss If someone would post this on the Delphi board for me I would appreciate as I can't seem to get DaddyCajuns pass word to get back on the site to post, THANKS.
If you need "free" labor to help tear down fences, I'm in!!Originally Posted by DaddyCajun

I know there are others out there and some have private messaged me, so as soon as I know I will let all know.
Just trying to help us raise more recruiting money and put our best foot forward for the New Orleans Bowl!!!!!!
DaddyCajun!!
I don't know if you have looked into this or not but...
...the gates don't have to be iron. I am starting to notice more and more people use gates made out of Aluminum. They look the same and cost alot less. In the end it could dramatically cut down on the costs.

Thanks for the reply and I hope we can count on your help!

I'm not trying to be critical, but in order to put our best foot forward, the letters forming CAJUN FIELD need to be replaced or removed. IMO unless a more professional font is used, they need to be removed.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun
