...which is what we pay our football coach.

Will a lack of student fees for athletics be the death of our sports program?
No, the lack of any kind of vision for athletics by the previous administration may be the death of our programs....., and consequently the death of the university.

Let's hope we are not too late with the RCAF.

I saw that too. Insert sarcasm: Doesn't the AD KNOW who he is?

I wonder if Lee and Rogers would donate TWO years back to the school since sagging attendance will be down and will be thier faults.

I think Lee should donate his time on a mission trip say from November to March or so this year

I suspect if he had a $12M buyout from a previous NBA gig, he might be willing. But, given his current salary, NOT. He got a 1 year reprieve to salvage his college coaching career. We'll have to wait and see what happens. My expectations are not high.

Uhhh, yes. Perhaps he was trying to disassociate himself early on with someone he had, only moments earlier, found out had OD'd in a NE city a few months back. FIU's substance abuse and vetting policies are under review as we speak.

FWIW, I think the Thomas hire by FIU is brilliant.

It has given FIU more publicity than anything they have done...ever.

It is a great, big, alarm clock of a hire to wake up the FIU students, fans, and alumni.

Look at the facts. New football stadium, Big name hire in basketball. 30k students. Major market.

They are definitely getting serious over there.
