Ok, I'm trying to take all of this with a grain of salt until I get back to Austin to watch the replay so that I can contribute rationally, but this comment is rediculous. Stover has been very accurate and he was last night. That was a 51 yard field goal attempt. I don't think anyone went into the season thinking Stover would boom a lot of 50 yard field goals. It was a good point in the game to let him try. He didn't make it. That doesn't make him Brauchle, who struggled with EPs.

I've read several threads and how quickly we forget OR maybe we didn't want to see the issues over the past 3 seasons. As a city and campus, we all wanted to win and win now. Fact is, HUD has done that. But has he done this with a good team or poor opponents? Something to ponder. Secondly, last night we were shown we are right where we belong when it comes to conference affiliation. We have not even been the FLAT OUT BEST TEAM in the weakest conference in college football. Again, something to ponder. Third. In regards to last nights game, LA TECH was the better team and if we played today or tomorrow or next week, they would be the better team again. We are not as big time as we think. We are definitely better than we were 4-5 even 6 years ago but we are not where we think we are. You can build all the fancy buildings and add seats to a stadium and that does not make you a better team. Just like the size of an engagement ring dictates the success of a marriage. Back to HUD. Other threads are thrashing this man but did anyone ever consider that we, the fans, created this mythical creature that is HUD??? Before last night's game, everyone was in live with the guy. Before last night many people thought his bench press videos were so cool and now they are mocking him. Hell, our own local paper has written note articles involving Hud's wife and child.does anyone else see anything odd about that? How desperate are we, as ULL fans that we entertain this? You dont see the advocate writing about Les Miles' family or his wife and as much as folks will dislike this statement, LSU IS BIG TIME and we are not. Again, Lafayette has treated this man like a GOD and it all boils down to what WE have created. We have put this man on a pedastal as long as what he does benefits us as fans. He's a man and in reality he is no different than us. He will have good days and bad days in coaching. I encourage all who read this to really consider what I have written.

Jamal Robinson gets hurt so we freak out and throw nothing more than 3 yards down the field. Defensive coordinators must love playing against us. As far as defense, La Tech sees that we're getting good pressure, they switch to a 3 step drop and quick passes and we don't change a ____ing thing.

As far as Broadway, if you take away the run from him, he's average with a weak arm.

I think any program that had one winning season the previous 15 years would ogle over three 9-win seasons and three consecutive bowl wins. That's human nature.

I also think what happened last night in light of the last three years would be a head scratcher and major disappointment for any fan base.

One thing you mentioned is a long-standing problem that probably will linger for a while. You can't say we're small time because of the facilities and classification, but we're not big time either. The elevator has been between somewhere between the two floors for about 40 years, i.e. mid-major status. That is a long time not to have the same rivals, identity, and the traditions that come with it. This loss and the McNeese loss in 2007 are so hard to swallow because it was the first time in 10 years and 21 years, respectively, that we played a long-time rival. That temporarily limits what you can do. If we drop down to FCS status we will regress because we won't be able to raise as much money. So we try to position ourselves for eventual big-time status. There's a big gap between the FCS and the P5 conferences. You don't have the multiple-phase athletic plan unless P5 status is your goal. We are going to have a mixed bag until that occurs. But that is the price you pay to move forward.

Will McNeese be within 7 points of being as good as Nebraska when all is said and done this season? Probably not. Likewise we probably aren't as bad as we were last night.

P.S. Please don't call us ULL. That's another identity problem we fight, made worse if our own people contribute to it.

Instead of constantly rushing 3 linemen giving the quarterback all day to pick our secondary apart, blitzing every once in awhile to pressure the quarterback would be nice. The quarterback should be on his butt after every pass.

You can't blame the secondary when the quarterback has at least 5 or more seconds to find a receiver. Our defensive play calling is terrible. Then when the offense doesn't move the ball and you're out on the field with little rest.

There is no excuse for the qb to constantly be converting 3rd and long. Tech shoots themselves in the foot with penalties giving them 3rd and long and they convert it every time because like I said we are rushing 3 and dropping back 8 in coverage. It's
ike that prevent defense that usually prevents you from stopping them. I didn't see their qb knocked to the ground once.

As for as Broadway is concerned, he shows no emotion or leadership like Gauthier or Delhomme did.

I have my Boise State tickets bringing my in-laws to the game after I've been bragging about how good the Cajuns should be this year. Unless we start putting pressure on the qb's, it will be a long disappointing season with probably no Bowl game. We will probably start OOC at 1-3. Then we have to deal with the Sun Belt qb's.

Exactly. I think stover will win some games for us. He's very accurate and was just a bit short. but every xp attemp is dead middle.

When Stover starts missing chip shot FGs we have a problem. As far as I'm concerned that missed kick dint change anything and if that's what deflated the sails we were too uptight and emotional. He gave it a good shot, it was 50 plus that's a low percentage kick IMO.

just watched the slo mo version, its left ankle. Not sure if its high or low as far as position but it looked like a pretty nasty shift.
