team practicing at 10am this morning so we will hook up w/bab around 11:15-ish today for his show.. As always, I'm thankful for any questions anyone wants to post in here for me to ask the coach (or can call them in yourselves.. 337-269-1077)
amazing as always as time flies by.. Only 10 days till the end of the regular season
Question...When is the last team you can remember that had a line up such as this one...with no holes from lead-off thru the 9 hole?
Thanks you 2.. Very good questions to say the least..
With Jace being so solid defensively up the middle, what is the reason for moving Jace to first and Leonards at second? vs. Just putting Leonards at First?
Well, I have an opinion about that....with compensation for the changes in the bats, I think this team hits MUCH better:
In 2006 and 2007, the BA nationwide was .291.

This season BA nationwide is .270

Unscientific logic would tell me that if this team were using the 2007 bats, we could possibly be hitting 21 points higher. That would put us at .339 for the season. The 07 team .310 as a team. Apples to apples, I do not think we have seen a team hit this well.
Are we still on track to have the new scoreboard put up after this weekend? Being a UL fan has made me a pessimist.
What are we most worried about in regard to South Al? They have good pitchers, do they have dangerous hitters?
How many innings can we stretch Ben Carter if he's pitching well? Can we get 6 or 7 from him?
I agree that this years team is better offensively when it comes to average. When it come to power and being physical at the plate the team in 2007 wins. Unfortunately we will never know because this years team will never hit with the old bats, but you could have given Hawkins, Lucroy, Gisclair, and Hatfield a broom stick and it wouldnt have mattered.
