UL – The Cajuns faced off against Texas-Arlington in their last regular season match Sunday at Cajun Courts. The match began just after 10 a.m. and the Cajuns didn’t show any hangover from their match Friday afternoon. The Cajuns swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Cajuns end their regular season with 15 wins, the second most since 2000. The Cajuns won 16 matches in 2006.

First year head coach Mark Jeffrey put together the best record for a first year coach since Dan Holden in 1994.

On senior day Arlen Domoney was able to play at center court even though he was not number 1 in the lineup. Domoney played at his usual number five position and came away with a straight set victory in his last home match. Domoney ends his regular season with a record of 16-3 on the year in singles. His winning percentage this year ranks in the top-10 in school history.

The Cajuns won four out the six singles matches to secure the 5-2 victory over the Mavericks. Other Cajuns winning were; Piotr Banas, Javier Pulgar, and Neil Schneider. All four Cajuns won their singles matches in straight sets.

The Cajuns will be back in action next weekend when they head to the Sun Belt Championships in Denton, Texas. The Cajuns seed will be determined Tuesday when the full national rankings come out. Most likely the Cajuns will be seeded anywhere from 2-4.
