Thread: Official Apology for LSU items

Ragin' Cajuns Official Apology for LSU items

I am sorry if having LSU items offended anyone in our auction. These items will be taken down asap. This was a fund raiser to make money for our students. If anything we felt that we can use the popularity of LSU in the area to make money for OUR kids. Some of the players are from the Acadiana area and we did not think this would be a problem. Again, we are sorry if anyone was offended.

Any feedback on other issues and/or concerns is appreciated.

I hate LSpoo as much as anyone but sale the stuff. Its a dang fundraiser for UL students. We all now in this economy its hard to find the money for charities and fundraisers so take anything you can get, even for the lsu crap.

I wasnt offended at all. I fully understand the object was to raise money for your group. If you have the items, I think it would be beneficial to sell them rather than return them or hold on to them or whatever else you would have to do with them.

I'm sure some would get upset with it, but I dont have any problem with them.

    I agree completely.

I'm an old dude; been around since the death penalty. I am astounded that a UL student organization is selling tigga cr*p. One thing it did was to keep me from buying anything. I won't even look to see what they have.

    Geaux UL. Who the h*ll is U L L?

Nothing like a little c-o-n-t-r-o-v-e-r-$-y to help out an auction

If you are that old then you would remember the Iran-Contra affair. Selling weapons to the country that calls us "The Great Satan" in order to fund Contra rebels in Nicaragua. It's sad but if you can make money off of the tiggar cr*p to benefit UL then do it.

RC the point is it possibly / potentially could chase the guy who really doesn't want or need any of the items but would bid higher than market value just to help UL.

Conversely with all the LSU outlets available the diehard LSU fan will be less inclined to bid on an item he wants if he has no love for UL.

It's all marketing and the current situation COULD chase more bidders than it attracts.

On the other hand it creates buzz which will raise awareness.

    So good or bad call????

The Iran-Contra affair also almost brought down the greatest president of the 20th century............ making money off of illegal items should be banned..... and tigger stuff is illegal around here... at least in my book

I applaud you for recognizing this may offend some. I do understand both sides and it is not a big deal to me but it is to several folks. Perhaps selling pro gear of the former Tiger athletes from the area would be the one to go. That way you are making money off of them but not tieing it to LSU. Note that some folks are also offended by the use of ULL. If you go back and study the history of the 1984 name controversy, you will understand. To some we are the University of Louisana and always will be. Adding the city tag or initial is not necessary and in fact drives some folks away.
