     The Lafayette and UL police showed up at the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house today to investigate an allegation that they were in possession of a stolen item.

    That allegedly stolen item was a set of wooden steps that might have been taken from outside a Johnston Street pawn shop.
    “They might have just helped themselves to these steps, or might plan on returning them,” Lafayette Police spokesman Cpl. Paul Mouton said. “I don’t know. It’s pretty silly.”
