If you make it in this weekend, your tickets to the game are on me....
Engineering is enough on the plate in my opinion (I recently graduated in electrical engineering)
Awww that's so sweet! Thank you but he turns 17 Thursday and said he already has plans for the weekend lol. Plus he is on the schedule at work both sat and sun mornings.
I was wondering if honors college might be too much.
Does anyone know if with his stats if he can expect any other scholarships?
My son is a 2010 Electrical Engineering graduate. He went through the Honors College and it gave him a much better education in all of the honors courses he took. Honors courses are 4 days a week as opposed to a normal 3 day per week schedule. It takes much more of an effort on his part. Nothing like being an Honors graduate from the top engineering school in the state.
Have him continue working on that ACT and GPA. There are numerous engineering scholarships available.
UL has a big Engineering Day in the Spring. They bring in high school seniors from all over for a bunch of engineering-related stuff (even for non-engineering seniors like I was; our physics class participated in an egg drop competition. My contraption allowed my egg to survive being dropped from the 3rd floor before it broke on the 4th floor drop). I don't know the exact date, but it usually takes place in late March.
Some little info spots about the petroleum/geology group at UL.

There are two Preview Days this Fall, Oct. 18 and Nov. 8. Out of state students have attended in the past, just call the Office of Admissions and Undergraduate Recruiting at 337-482-6467 to register and/or to get more information for campus tours and such.
Thank you all for the information. It has helped me also. My son is a senior and is interested in chemical engineering, of course interest could change. I'm trying to let him decide to come to school locally VS going to a school that has the wrong school colors. I'll support him I'm his decision, but can't pull for anyone other than vermilion red. Thing is he has no interest in sports, bummer. Again, thanks.
