C'mon, Coach. Give the little doggy a break. After he ____s his sister and beats his wife he doesn't have much else to do in North Bossier.

You also don't play in Tech's football games... but you don't mind saying "we" in that context.

I have always loved the passion that so many people in this community have for this University. It's even more commendable when you look at what our fan base has been put thru by the past administration. We have put up with a lot of horrible years of football and still managed to have a fan base who were loyal when they shouldn't have been. When guys like Jerry Baldwin are your head coach and a 3-4 win season is viewed "as progress", times are tough. We then had administrations who have decided to change the name of our university several times as well as our mascot. On top of that, there has been a certain Louisiana institution that has blocked or overturned our attempt to reference our University by simply "University of Louisiana".

So we get past most of these hurdles and Hud gets hired. The RCAF gets started. NO Bowls are accepted. And the ball is finally rolling down hill. Unprecedented donations are coming in, our stadium and facilities are getting major facelifts and our football record has been very respectable the last 3 years.

Even with all of these perks we had a pitiful showing last weekend. We got our ___ whipped by LT last weekend and it wasn't even a game. From the opening kickoff they put it to us like they meant business. We were outcoached, out smarted and for damn sure out played. It was over after the first half but our team didn't even know it. There was trash talk before the game from both sides fans. Some in good spirit and some a little too personal.

What I have a problem with is the handful of people on here that can't just let it go and admit LT got the best of us. Why do we have to turn this into a "we're still better than you" argument? How old are you? Some of you act like you're still in middle school arguing over a game in PE. LT fans deserve the right to talk trash because here's a novel concept: "THEIR TEAM BACKED IT UP." If you don't like it then don't talk trash to them or help HUD get our team better prepared before our next rematch. It's a game and some of you people are acting like it's a life or death situation. A game that is played by 20 year old kids who's generation has been taught that playing sports is the easy way out versus getting a solid education and good job afterwards. As a fan I'm most proud that we have guys who go to class, graduate and are prepared for LIFE versus some game that a miniscule amount of guys are able to make a living doing. Some of you ought to get of your high horse and see how petty you are being.
    Good points.

    1) I don't do it for the LTU folks. Lord knows, most of 'em are ineducable. I do it for our folks.

    2) I want our people to remember, constantly, that sports serves the larger mission of the university.

    3) And despite our disappointments in sports, and despite the lethal cuts the state is inflicting up on us, we are moving forward, very fast, in our larger mission.

    Also,

    4) It's just fun to pick on LTU. They are so full of themselves, and to paraphrase Churchill, "They are a modest school with much to be modest about." They have succeeded in accomplishing what they most wanted, to become an L-State mini-me.

    Good football, forgettable university.

He wrote good points, but he wasn't referring to you at the end. He was referring to a handful of people. I never said that Tech didn't prove they had a better football team this year. I just don't think we have a player talent disparity. We are grossly under coached against good opponents. And Tech, unfortunately for us, has returned this year to a "good opponent" in football. All the other smack matters not. Let that stuff run it's course. I care about facts. And the fact is, we need to step up our coaching in football. The other 100 items to compare UL and Tech... please keep us informed, Fun. You know way more than any of us on those details... and that includes every poster from Tech.

What's strange is that without provocation from a Cajuns fan, we read this kind of complete disrespect for our city, people and university on the Tech forum, every time UL gets mentioned. Go back and read what BlueDawg wrote on our forum prior to our game with Tech. He was almost your only representative up until game week. Some of his posts got a few people on here extremely ____ed off. If we posted in threads on BB&B, and your moderator left them up for all to read, we'd see equally nasty posts from Tech people.

I got way out of hand and I hope it doesn't repeat itself next year. That was just a nasty past week.
Apparently it is our fault because of something said by our head coach at a private boosters club meeting. Something that probably shouldn't have been printed. The writer blew it out of proportion, ULM ran with it and suckered (again) the Cajuns into buying into their hatred of Louisiana Tech.

The truth, or at least what I believe to be true, is that Tech and the Cajuns are both excellent schools whose growth and good academic and athletic programs have been stymied by Louisiana politics. It is actually amazing that both schools have made the progress they have. It is painful, at least it is to me, when decisions are made and actions are taken that may help a short term problem but hinders long term growth and standing that both schools have earned.

We are good at more sports, our endowment is much larger (that's what she said), our population base is larger and economically stronger, etc etc. One of the worse things about that loss is having to listen to dip____s like this lecture us, when they only got into a "better" conference based upon bold faced lies. But you know what, our team ____ the bed, so now we have to listen to it. I will just comfort myself with the fact I have never had to live in Ruston, and God willing that will always be the case.
What "bold face lies" do you speak of?
