Of course its fun to "hate." But its not fun to hate or be hated. It seems that is what it has come to for a lot of folks. I have always liked the Cajuns. I have old family ties to your school. I just want it to be fun again.

I don't think that's true. You guys bought what ULM was peddling about Tech's attitude at the time. Things have apparently deteriorated on both ends since then, unfortunately. Our pursuing WAC membership had nothing to do with ULL or really even with ULM, if that is what you are addressing.

Quit trying to rewrite history. It wasn't ULMost peddling anything. It was an all out hard sell by your Coach, Derrick Dooley, and Tech's puppet master, Davidson. Your administration and fanbase enthusiastically marched along in lockstep. And it was not about WAC membership. It was about Tech proclaiming itself too "elite" to play ULMost, or any Sun Belt school for that matter.

Maybe that was before your time and you are just buying the current "we are pure as the driven snow" propaganda from BB&B. But the truth is an entirely different story.

Before you talk about Tech's "separation"..... You might want to concentrate on "separating" & beating your sister directional school ULM first. Y'all need to win back the right to call yourselves "Louisiana" from Monroe campus.

Well one thing is, we ain't scared to play Monroe like Tech. Man up and play em, instead y'all hide behind the peach trees and blame it on another bowl committee. We all know y'all scared to take the L.

There is no reason why both teams don't sign a contract on playing every year. Hell kickoff season against each other. It's great for both schools. Wins and losses come but the energy it creates is outstanding.

Personally, I loved the vitriol. Like I said earlier, true hate for another team/fanbase makes the game more fun, makes it sweeter when we beat that ___!

I'm glad we are playing as well. I don't understand or enjoy hatred and disrespect. I just would like it to be fun.

It used to be nothing more than good natured smack talk. Tech decided, not only to shun UL in football, they openly boasted (AD and football coach) that we were beneath Tech. And that the entire SBC was beneath Tech. As we attempted to work on scheduling football with Tech (and remember... the boasting was done in front of the Tech boosters that roundly agreed) Tech would not help. At first, they blathered about not having an available date... then after UL made it clear that if we don't play each other in football, we were not going to schedule Tech in other sports. Tech only approached UL, after having owed us a return game in BR, with offers of playing at Tech "because we have a last minute date open".

Now... not that I don't blame Tech for looking at what we did in the final years of Nelson Stokley, leading into Baldwin, and saying "that miserable UL leadership is running their football into nothing"... but clearly Tech was the obstacle behind our not playing. And a lot of the elitist attitude Tech fans flashed on us... has us a little irritated.

Let's get our sports battling again and let the playing field answer the ultimate (athletics) questions.
