Jay and G discussed this as I drove home last night, why and what does UL dislike (or hate) about La. Tech. Some of it is political if you will, as in Tech saying it wouldn't play UL in FB, prompting Scott Walker to to put the No-Tech scheduling rule into effect. For me, it goes deeper than that, and not just football either.
Basketball....Some monumental moments between the two schools. The late Tech coach Scotty Robertson was always in full maniac mode visiting Blackham. Always a rock'em sock'm game.
Football....back in the day, Tech was a small college national powerhouse. I remember as a teen watching Terry Bradshaw and Roger Carr visit to McNaspy, always a tough to stomach game.
An epic mid 70's visit to Ruston to watch USL tight end Calvin James tear up the Tech Defense
A 1975 Cajun Field game with a nationally ranked Tech club that took a lead into half time only to see it evaporate in the 2nd half. David Oliver caught everything and anything thrown his way. Will never forget Roy Henry, after a time out, coming back on the field moving his right arm in a throwing motion as to tell Tech, we're throwing it, you can't stop it, and we're winning this damn game.
Watching Tech run up the score on an undermanned USL team at Cajun Field in the early 90s.
