I was at the game, and I did not think Broussard was effective. Yes, he was visibly irritated (I used the nice word) with Robe for pulling him. Any athlete worth their salt will be competitive, but any athlete worth their salt will also understand that their are occasions that require them being replaced
.
I find no fault in Robe's decision. And yes Broussard may be in Robe's doghouse, which I imagine is not a pleasant place to be. Don't know if their are future consequences Broussard. Hopefully, not.
I've known and been around Matt Broussard since he was 8 or so years old. That is not like him. I would suspect he is frustrated knowing that it is his senior year and things are not coming together for him as he might have planned they would.
Hopefully things are worked out and he is able to get his head together (get out of Robe's doghouse, which I suspect he is in)... and help the team finish out a successful year.
Robe will let this go...I wasn't there but it sounds like broussard let his emotions get the best of him in the heat of the moment. I do not look for Robe to hold a grudge this is not the type of person he is. Only thing I would say to Broussard is you should have waited until you got in the dugout to express how you felt. No big deal....Robe will let it go!
I feel that both of you Cajun Red and cajun2bag are correct. I don't know either of the parties, but Robe is a father with children and he has seen "snits" before. If anything, I feel certain that Robe took Broussard aside after the game, and gave him some fatherly advice. If Broussard is the person you state, he will take the advice and be a better person for it.
Let's hope it will be a win-win situation.![]()
