Man I hope the boys can play well and at least win the series this weekend and set a tone for the rest of the season... It is not too late yet but this weekend is almost a must!
Who won???????
I was at the game last night, and for the most part, we looked really good.
Unfortunately, Griffen looks clueless at the plate. He has way too many holes in his swing. Until Trahan can work with him, we need to go with Keefer behind the plate and Benzel at third and alternate Keefer with Guillory behind the plate.
I don't know if anybody else noticed this, but when Robe pulled Broussard from the game, Broussard was visibly ______ed. From where I sit, I saw Broussard go into the dug out fuming. When Robe got back to the dug out, he and Broussard had words and Broussard grabbed his jacket and stormed out of the dug out to the locker rooms. We may have just seen the last of Broussard for his Cajun carreer. Once you are in Robe's dog house, you rarely ever come out.
Otherwise, everybody played well. Guys are starting to really swing the bats well and the defense is palying relatively mistake free. If our pitching could stabalize, we could make a good late season run.
He was pulle in the top of the second. He gave up a single and a double then struck out the next guy, but proceeded to hit two batters that scored a run. It appeared to me (and I am in no way an expert) that he was throwing well. His curve ball had tremendous break. The last guy he hit before he got pulled, he was up 1-2 I believe and he tried to overthrow a curve and left it inside. I'm not saying Robe was wrong for pulling him, but it was clear that Broussard was not happy.
Yeah, it seemed that Robe had a really short leash with Broussard and Haagen last night. Wagley pitched one of the best games I can remember him pitching.
