I don't know what the problem was then but that group just never came together. This year however I don't think anyone who looked at this group thought we would be anywhere other than where we are at today. Actually I think a lot of the younger guys have been impressive.

    2) In general I think coaches get to much of the glory and to much of the blame. There are close to forty players that suit up and actually play the game. A large part of the responsibility for success lies in their hands.

With all that said I haven't agreed with everything coach has done but when you measure the whole of the work I think it is outstanding. You can throw around terms like rebuilding, reloading etc....I personally don't like them; but whatever you call it that is where this team is at. We weren't projected very high in the pre-season for a reason.

We lost two of three this weekend but we were very competitive. That gives me hope that these guys might be turning the corner. I didn't get to listen or watch much of the series but the little I did was very entertaining and after all isn't that what it is about? _

Good comments... and I agree with pretty much everything said. One thing, though, I think MOST would agree that as much as we all want to be "entertained", a program's success comes down to winning games.

And I listened to ALL THREE games... and will continue to do so. I am a fan of Coach Robe and this program... and my comments don't change that.

I admit that I'm no more than a casual fan, though I certainly want UL to do well. From that perspective, it does seem that "expectations" for most sports at UL are always fairly high prior to the season, and that the athletic department encourages that kind of thinking. That's my impression, anyway. Are unrealistic expectations part of the problem with UL athletics?
Fans seem to be in a constant state of disappointment, meaning that expectations are consistently unmet.

Perhaps but as recently as the year before David Walker took over, the Big-5 sports at UL had a winning percentage of right at 73%.

So perhaps we got spoiled. That was 2nd best in the country that year.

This year UL will struggle to break 50% and to some it seems like the Administration isn't phased.
