David Walker considers himself a numbers guy, but even UL's athletic director sometimes struggles to fully comprehend the NCAA's Academic Progress Rate.
The APR is an academic reform package created to measure how well schools retain student-athletes, keep them academically eligible and eventually graduate them on a scale of 1 to 1,000.
"I compare it to the IRS tax code," Walker said. "What makes the APR so complicated to understand is that it's an ever-evolving program."
