If you want comments after listening to the statement for the first time in a week, this is mine.

If David Walker made the decision, he should have made the announcement himself rather than let someone else to do it for him.

Is this the kind of leadership that will inspire the public to buy into a vision for Cajun athletics?

    I don't think so.

    We need another athletic director.

The whole thing is a joke.
Leadersip has to come from the top.
It is quite obvoius we have NONE.
How long will we have to put up with this?
It seems we have stooped to a new level of incompetency.
    Somehow I am not supprised.

David Walker "We had to consider the results on the court, IN ADDITION TO the academic status off the court"
In his statement W/L results are secondary, a virtual 'add on' for consideration. He is ADDING court results to the equation, results are not primary. Results are an addition 'to' the academic status off the court

In the real world the statement should have read. We had to consider the academic status off the court, IN ADDITION TO the results on the court.

Don't get me wrong, good academic status is a must and if a team is excelling deserves its own accolade stage. Conversely if the academic status is performing below par, the consideration given should be mentioned publicly as part of a firing.

In David Walkers backwards statement to the press he is saying academic status is the #1 criterion for retaining a basketball coach. If that were the case the basketball team would be formed from the Deans list.

This is what happens when you hire friends of friends or from the good ole' boy network.

UL has done this for too long, and it has bit us in the arse.
How many of our coaches/admin are from either Lafayette or have graduated from UL?

IT is time to think outside the box, but how can we think outside the box, when everyone that controls everything are in the box?

    Does anyone agree w/ me?
