Following UL campus tour, Brianna Cherry excited to take next step

  Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the University of Louisiana for an official campus visit. I will be attending on a full softball scholarship.

I was very excited to tour my future home and meet my future softball coach. With the company of my mother, aunt, and Nerissa Myers (teammate), I rode the 3 1/2 hours to Lafayette, La.

Upon arriving on campus, we realized that we could not find the field, so we asked a passer-by for directions. Her directions led us straight to the Cajun "Doom."

Once we arrived, we were invited to a Ragin' Cajun softball game. While watching the game and getting used to my new surroundings, I began to warm up to 'Cajun' life.

After the game, in which UL beat Tulsa, 6-0, Nerissa and I were introduced to the Lady Cajuns' team. They welcomed us with open arms and assured that we would definitely enjoy our stay.

"Later on, we had dinner with the head coach, Mike Lotef, and his star pitcher, Ashley Brignac. The next day, we met with the assistant coach, Stefni Lotef, and took a tour of the campus."

Ouch, the truth finally comes out.



The person giving the the young lady directions hit the nail on the head. .... the Cajun "Doom" is what the former "CajunDome" will be known as until a replacement for Robert Lee is foumd.

I enjoy seeing and reading initial perceptions.

She watched a "Ragin' Cajun" softball game, warmed up to 'Cajun' life, and was introduced to the "Lady Cajuns" team.

Now that is good marketing, all is good.

Brother coached both kids in baby school with his daughters. Thinks the world of them as players and as good kids. He said that the local Hattiesburg paper had a nice article on the kid's visit here. Hope they bring bats!!
