Some trademark infringements are easy to spot.
Suspicions might arise, for instance, if a Connecticut boarding school took to calling itself the Ragin’ Cajuns and splashed a fiery fleur de lis across the middle of its lacrosse field. Or say Rock Bridge or Hickman adopted Hawaii’s psychedelic logo and became the Rainbow Warriors.
Running afoul of Missouri’s licensing police would seem a taller task. No handle, after all, is more popular among high school teams than the Tigers. And really, between bouncy tiger — Winnie the Pooh’s wingman, Tigger — manic tiger — Tony — and angry tiger — Kenny Rogers — how many ways can these oversized cats be depicted?
