We win.......and that is all that matters......
ULT - 21
UL - 37
The objective is to win the game. From unbiased sources, we're heavily favored. Tech cannot want to lose this game as bad as they want... and their fans can be as braggadocios, arrogant, delusional and defiant all they want. All things even... we win by 20. But, things aren't "even". We are at home. We are healthy (and that has been our prior problem). We are experienced (and that is very important early in the season). We don't like Tech's attitude toward us. We've said "let's play!". They've said, "you're beneath us!". They can print out as many "embrace the suck" posters as they want. It isn't going to change the situation.
Oklahoma did what UL did last week. They played to execute cleanly... against an inferior foe... and came out victorious. We are playing this week to bust a permanent hole in Tech. They've lived on the past, when we refused to be good, while they put their entire athletic identity into their football program.
Many have relayed the message to Coach Hudspeth that their fans and football team have zero respect for us. And he just grinned. I like our chances tomorrow.
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team will look to post a 2-0 record for the second time in three seasons when it returns to action on Saturday against in-state opponent Louisiana Tech at Cajun Field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:04 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN3 with Dave Raymond (play-by-play) and Jay Taylor (color) calling the action. The game will also be aired on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns radio network with Jay Walker (play-by-play), Gerald Broussard (color) and Steve Peloquin (sideline) handling the call.
The series with Louisiana Tech (0-1) is the oldest in Ragin' Cajuns football history with the schools playing 85 times dating back to 1910. The Bulldogs have won the last six meetings in the series dating back to 1997 with the last Cajuns victory (37-31) coming in 1996 in Ruston. The last Cajuns victory over Tech in Lafayette was a 40-33 win on Nov. 4, 1995.
Louisiana (1-0) opened its season with a convincing 45-6 win over in-state opponent Southern last Saturday before the third-largest crowd (36,170) in Cajun Field history. Terrance Broadway threw for three touchdowns and ran for another for Louisiana, Elijah McGuire rushed for 129 yards and a touchdown while Jamal Robinson caught five passes for 112 yards and a pair of scores.
Trae Johnson recorded eight tackles to lead Louisiana with Kevin Fouquier and Boris Anyama posting five stops each. The Cajuns limited Southern to 279 yards total offense, including 77 on the ground.
Louisiana Tech opened its season under second-year coach Skip Holtz with a 48-16 loss at No. 3-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday. New quarterback Cody Sokol threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns in a 22-for-36 performance, throwing only one interception.
Kentrell Brice led the Bulldog defense with nine total tackles while Le'Vander Liggins added seven solo tackles.

WE ARE LOUISIANA
• There is confusion among the national sports organizations as how to refer to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
• Our official name is the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, but much like our opponents around the country, we simply go by Louisiana when referring to our athletic programs.
• Although we proudly refer to our University with its full title for academic purposes, we ask that Louisiana, Ragin' Cajuns or Cajuns be used to refer to us athletically.
CAJUNS ARE UNANIMOUS SUN BELT CHOICE
• The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team were the unanimous choice to repeat as champions as the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll was released in July.

• Texas State was picked to finish sixth in the poll with league newcomers Appalachian State and Georgia Southern picked seventh and eighth, respectively. Idaho, Georgia State and New Mexico State rounded out the 11-team field.

More info that will make CrazyCajun upset!!!
Man… That's gonna be a tough game. UL vs Louisiana? I don't know who to pull for...
So the series record is 46-44-6 in ever so slight favor of LTU??? From everything I heard from Tech this week, I thought they have dominated the series...obviously not
The spread opened at 16, dropped to somewhere around 12.5 and is now at 14. The over/under is 58. 68% of the country has money on UL. I tend to believe we win by 24 points.
LATECH 10
Louisiana 41
Either we don't cover or we don't hit the over.
Not quite - its 46-33-6 in our favor

Lots of latex fans spout those historic numbers and then, in the next breath, say the game is unimportant to them. If it was unimportant, they would not be so proud of the won-loss record.
