Kinda like how the Hawks pawn Russell Wilson off as a "Quarterback"

I'm glad we're giving, in Barnes, a tall target for TB to identify when Jamal isn't open. TB has a habit of having to see his receiver as opposed to visualizing the location his receiver is going to be. Tall targets will help. I'm a slot receiver junky, anyway. I'm extremely critical of passing plays that do not include an agile slot guy manipulating the short middle. Barnes as a slot makes me think of a TE/slot hybrid. Riles, like he says (hopefully) is that quicker elusive guy that has the moves to elude coverage, and then add yardage after the catch. Both guys being stout is going to make hard work of tackling... and they're blocking benefit out of the slot will seriously add to both TB's protection and clearing paths to spring our RBs. Overall, I just like our coaches talking about a focus role at the slot, and finding guys that are so hungry to get PT that they'll work hard to get TB's attention. Both guys prior roles are also going to make that downfield block a massive collision, rather than a temporary obstacle. A good slot guy absolutely slaughters a defense.

Peoples was super effective from the slot and there were several games where he seemed like the only guy open. Hopefully one of these guys steps up and can be on the level he was.

That was what our offense was missing last year. We ran the ball so well but our passing game was severely limited. Getting a legit slot threat is gonna make us nasty on offense.
