    BATON ROUGE — Following is a comprehensive list of area projects of interest — and additional funding for projects already allocated — among those in Louisiana's $3 billion capital outlay bill.

    Only those projects that have a chance of getting funding during the fiscal year that starts July 1 are listed.

    The projects are listed by parish with the first two years of authorized funding following. “Initial funds” means those that could be released during the fiscal year that begins July 1.

    “Trailing funds” are those that would follow in the second year.



    • University of Louisiana chimpanzee center, supplemental funding, $50,000.

    • University of Louisiana, multiuse agricultural arena, $3.8 million, including $300,000 in initial funds and $3.5 million in trailing funds.

    • University of Louisiana, Bittle Hall addition and renovation, $1.5 million, including $135,000 in initial funds and $1.4 million in trailing funds.

    • Cajundome exterior waterproofing, $580,000.

    • University of Louisiana, computer science facility, planning, $600,000.

  2. Default Louisiana to receive $2M for improvements

    LOUISIANA La. — The University of Louisiana is in line to receive more than $2 million in priority 1 and 2 funds through the recently approved 2003-04 state capital outlay bill.

    The capital outlay bill addresses state-funded construction projects for the fiscal year that begins July 1.

    Capital projects are ranked priority 1 through priority 5.

    Duane Blumberg, Louisiana’s vice president for research and graduate studies, said the following university capital projects are in line to receive funds through the 2003-04 state capital outlay bill:

    n Multi-use agricultural arena, $300,000 in priority 2 funds, $3.5 million in priority 5 funds. Plans are to replace several agriculture buildings behind Blackham Coliseum, Blumberg said.

    I don't think so. I think this was just the priority list for projects receiving state funds.
