Since Chad Keefer banged out four hits in UL's season opener, the transfer from North Central Texas College has swung a steady bat in his new surroundings. The only thing missing was the same pop the junior third baseman showed when he hit 12 home runs last year in junior college.
Keefer rediscovered that power stroke in his final at-bat Sunday as the Cajuns rolled past Arkansas-Little Rock, 16-6. His three-run homer to right field highlighted a five-run outburst in the eighth inning that ended the game due to the 10-run rule and capped a day in which the Oklahoma native had a career-high four RBIs.
