Athletic Department:
I will be brief and to the point; you as administrators have completely failed your student athletes, alumni of the university, and our community as a whole. This is a dark day in UL’s history not because the two coaches will be retained; but because reality has hit us fans in the face, the previous administration might very well be more competent than the current? The bowl fiasco, the building of the indoor practice facility (2 ½ years for a metal building), the launching of RCAF, the vetting of Cyprian, and the non-firing of LEE; notice I didn’t mention habitually loosing.
Fans have been loyal to this university; we consistently rank at the top of the Sun Belt in attendance for every sport. Not anymore, the few diehards you and the people before you haven’t run off over the years have had enough. I will not only stop attending sporting events but I will be an outspoken critic of the current administration and coaches. This athletic department has been on life support for years; congratulations, you finally killed it!!!
I cannot. I for one will take a stand, as I told David Walker in a letter a couple of weeks ago, and will not buy my season tickets or attend another game until a coaching change is made.
As big a fan and supporter of this University as I am and have been for 40 plus years, I MUST send a message that a 25% winning record is NOT acceptable and I will not help support it with my dollars!
I have argued with many people both on and off of these boards when I thought their expectations or demands were unrealistic. I also defended this administration when I thought criticisms were unwarranted or ill-informed. And in that same vien I will now say that I believe the administration is flat out wrong in this decision. They are reacting to perceived threats like a bunch of _______. They are letting the inmates run the asylum and bowing down to political correctness. In the process they are selling out the fans, alumni and the athletes.
I've been on this board exhorting people to give time and money to this university's athletic programs. In the face of this decision I will not do that any longer. I cannot blame anyone for not wanting to give money to an administration that makes this kind of decision. Dr. Savoie stated that he understood the importance of successful athletics to a university. He led us to believe he would be different than Doc A. It sure looks the same to me.
Are all of you sending these e-mails to Savoie as well?
If not, then please do so.

Bottom line is this decision is based on improbable possibilties.
