I just found out the news and I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I got sick and went throw up.
No wonder this university ____es off so many fans and shuns away fans.
This is unacceptable. I guess I will continue not going to the games, as I did this year. disgusting.
what a ____er.
Here's my email. This is the mild version of what i am feeling right now.
Gentlemen,
If the article above is indeed true, along with MOST fans of this University I am deeply disappointed. We retaining two coaches that have a combined record of 61-124. If this is acceptable on the court then you might as well make it acceptable in the classroom. By retaining these two coaches we as a University are accepting failure. Period. There is not enough lip stick in the world to put on this pig. Awhile back I listened to an interview stating that the athletic department had a plan in place for UL to be in the best possible position to move to a better conference when realignment takes place. Where does this fit into that plan. Are we going to 50% our way into conference championships and NCAA tournaments. I think not.
I don't know who is responsible for this absolute collapse of an athletic program (see past five years of basketball, see past two years of baseball, see past 10 years of football), so I look to the head. If I continuously fail to fulfill my duties as an employee at my company, I will be fired. Yet season after season after season this program continues to fail on every level and no one is held accountable. NO ONE. This is a very sad day to be a fan of the Ragin Cajuns.
Respectfully,
What's the over/under on how many postgame interviews RL shows up for next year...?
Well in that case I will just tie them up so they can't leave.
In all seriousness where are they getting the information that all of the players will leave if the Coach is fired. Seems to me if I was playing on a team which is obviously not playing up to its potential I would want a new coach to get us where we need to be. One example comes to mind, Trent Johnson.
Why as a player would you think that you would better with the EXACT same teammates and coach. To me a new Coach could only make them better, it can't get any worse.
And if someone tries to use the word which starts with an "i" and end with a "y" as an excuse again I will hurl.
I'm sure Jay Walker is going to set all sorts of ground rules for his show as soon as he goes on the air. He is not going to allow Cajun fans to vent their frustrations and he might even go as far as scheduling several guests so he doesn't have to take calls.
Jay is a wimp and he will cover for UL coaches and the administration at every turn. If this exact situation (retaining a 3-26 head coach) were to be happening at LSU, the shows over there would be off the hook. What do we get? A bunch of media pu$$ies.
I won't be renewing my season basketball tickets and I won't go back until Lee is gone.
I'm sure Walker will lecture fans who have the same stance as me, as he has the Pius act down to an art form.
Turbine, I think the administration felt it was more of a risk to let the coaches go than to keep them. If they were let go and especially on the mens side, and a few players were to leave the program then all UL programs would be on postseason probation. This was a risk they were not willing to take. Rogers has two years left and to buy him out hire another coach and still worry about the possibility of kids leaving was problably too risky.
Girls were still losing at the end but were playing teams very close and with a young team, could have factored in.
Boys had many injuries and still came close could have factored in.
I hope they do well, I will still be at the games but even I am down on the status of both programs!
Clarifying Metry Cajun's point about the guys run off a few years back. That along with Tyrus Wade leaving early the year prior caused us to have a bad APR year. APR is reviewed not only annually but on a four year rolling average. We have been OK in recent years but another bad year would cause our four year rolling average to suffer. As we were punished before, a 2nd punishment could result causing all sports to suffer. From what I understand, the bad year goes away from the four year rolling average next season.
