I am not sure about Savoies
So basically some of the athletes told the admin that if Lee (or Lebato) goes then some of them would quit, thus messing with our APR, thus possibly keeping us out of postseason play for all sports. So no choice, keep Lee.
In summary, a couple of the current players have effectively held hostage the success of our basketball program. Am I wrong here?
This is a joke, and you can bet that the RCAF will be adversely affected. Who wants to be a part of this crap? They might as well wait another year to cross the t...![]()
By my count Coach Lee owes his job to the success of the softball program.
I can't recall other recent post season teams to where a bad APR would be hurting any other sport.

The rule punishing all sports at one school for one program being in APR trouble is new. From what I understand, the NCAA reiterated this to all schools very recently. Had three players transferred, been ineligible, or a combination of the two equaling to three, we would be in APR trouble poentially costing us post season play in other sports. I guess they thought that was too great a risk to take. Note, I am not stating agreement with the decision here. I am simply explaining the logic behind it. In fact, I think they are greatly underestimating how big of a negative financial impact will result from this decision. I also agree with Turbine that changing coaches would not necessarily result in guys leaving.
If we are so worried about the APR why don't we just get a professor to coach the team and instead of practicing basketball have him teach class. (Not that they look like they practice anyway) Or how about we make it a requirement that you have to be the validictorian of your high school class in order to make the team.
_____ make me coach. For 150k a year I will have the most smartest 20 game losers in the country. And I even have basketball experience. I played one year in a rec. league when I was EIGHT.

This is bad. This is really bad. You can only put so much lip stick on a pig. I can't think of any example anywhere else in the country that this situation has taken place before. We are not just accepting failure but paying for it. If I annually fail at doing my job, I will be fired. Flat out kicked to the curb. BUT this athletic program, season after season after season continues to fail and no one, NO ONE is held accountable. Do they realize that fans are not playing around when they say 'I will not support Lee's basketball program'? It will be real easy for fans to get that letter to renew basketball tickets and just throw it in the trash. I want to understand this but I can't. DAVID WALKER IS RUNNING THIS PROGRAM INTO THE GROUND! It may not directly be his fault but the buck stops at the head honcho and that would be him. This is sickening.
