Can we still call him "The General" and blame everything on Jesse Evans?
Please. Please can we?

Very true on the last comment. However, this decision shouldn't be based on assumptions. One can assume all they want.
Fact is, we are in an NCAA "Watch Period" until next year
Fact is that if we do not have another great APR year next year, we likely suffer one of the worst penalties that can be doled out.
My educated guess is that we can survive a possible year of bad basketball MUCH more easily than a possible penalty
Thats just me![]()
It seems to me that UL is always faced with a decision between bad and worse...or dumb and dumber, as the case may be. It takes alot of effort to constantly put yourself in that position. Is there any expectation that the current cast of characters is capable of breaking that cycle?
Questions----Who left and why to put us in this mess????----What are the APR rules that put us in this situation???----How can the NCAA possibly be this stupid to roll penalties to other sports?????----Most of these guys are doing what all kids do--trying to rally around their coach-but since when do the players run the Athletic Dept.???????
You're about to see athletes running the program - the bball players have Lee/Athletics dept. by the balls - and not the basketballs either. Lame duck coach/lame duck administration - only way this sucks more is if we become bowl eligible in football and still get put on probation because of this basketball fiasco
thanks for answering--that was exactly my fear--Can you expand on the situation that did/is/can occur!!!!!???? How do you think the responses of Lee and Rogers to the administration went???? Were their agents directly involved????
My thoughts....
I think that some of the players that like Lee and thus wanted him to stay, only like him for at least one reason there could be more. He has lost all control/discipline of this team and they can basically do whatever they want. Question: What more than anything do 18-22 year old males want? Answer: Besides that?FREEDOM! And with Lee as coach they have that. Those that want him to stay (as someone else put it "holding the athletic dept hostage") don't really care about the losing program becuase they have that freedom. They can do whatever they want in practice, they obvisouly don't have to learn how to run an offense, or shoot free throws better (or at all), they only have to play streetball during games for the most part, etc., etc..
Those that wanted him to go care about a winning program and are now stuck with a poor coach, or will have to quit the team.
I think we have a few "cancers" on this team that caused Lee to lose all control/discipline and a downward spiral started sometime back. Could have even been prior to this past season. I don't know any of the players so I would have NO CLUE as to who they would even be. This is a theory I have put together over time from bits and pieces of news that I have heard. We need a new coach to come and clean house I have a feeling.
Then again these are just my thoughts......and I could be TOTALLY WRONG!
