Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns have a chance to notch a milestone victory for “The Tigue” this weekend. At 699-267-2, M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field is one win away from having hosted 700 Cajuns’ wins. In 32 years at “The Tigue,” the Ragin’ Cajuns own a .725 winning percentage in the storied field, which has been the subject of much praise.

Recently, Nebraska’s radio crew encouraged their listeners to close their eyes and think of college baseball, informing them that “The Tigue” is what they pictured. Moore Field is also a favorite spot to visit for many opponents, and has been hailed as one of the “happiest places in college baseball,” and home of the “friendliest press box in America.”

• ALL-TIME SERIES vs UALR: All but three meetings between UL and UALR have taken place since both became Sun Belt members. Head coach Tony Robichaux has been at the helm for 33 of UL’s 36 series victories, and this is the eighth time the two programs square off at “The Tigue” for a Sun Belt series. Louisiana is 16-5 vs. UALR at Moore Field and has won eight of the last 10 at home. UL swept the Trojans in 2007 and 2008. Louisiana currently owns a seven-game win streak over the Trojans, dating back to the final game of the 2006 series – the longest win streak since taking eight straight from the Trojans from 1996-99. In the last series at “The Tigue,” Louisiana outscored UALR 50-11, including a 28-3 decision in the Saturday contest. UL swept all three games of the inaugural series in Little Rock, March 30-31, 1986. UALR won the first SBC meeting 5-0 on March 11, 1995, then UL went on to win 11 of the next 12 to take a commanding 14-2 series lead. The Cajuns have taken 13 of 15 Sun Belt series: UALR’s lone series wins came in 2000 (sweep) and 2001 (2-1).
