There is a difference between quietly challanging a kid on the mound to reach down and dig deep, and robbing his soul and identity from him in front of the world demanding the impossible. That team is done. They may not win another conference game. They have little potential and will struggle mightily to reach it, imo.
did anyone have a problem with coach babb last weekend when he was a little animated and loud?? i didnt have one bit of a problem with that....its the same principle in my opinion
I had no problem with Coach Bab because he was protecting his players. That equates to respect from your team because he ligitimately cared that his players were being screwed out of a game they fought hard all year to prepare for. And it's rediculous to compare one of the most selfless coaches to a clown like UALR's coach. No one said emotion is bad. Emotion is a great motivator, but if you use emotion and passion to beat your team down and embarrass them publicly the result will be what happened this weekend. There is a reason that team is so bad and has been so bad and will continue to be bad.
You comparing those two situations (coach vs umpire and coach vs own player) shows that you have no idea what this argument is about. A coach getting into it with an umpire who he has no control over and is taking the game into his own hands is completely different than taking frustration out on a kid that he himself coaches and gives playing time. It is his job to coach these kids to become better baseball players. If they can't cut it, then it is his fault that the kid is on the field in the first place and he has himself to blame. Instead, he chose to pass the buck while also embarrassing several kids in front of thousands of people. Stay classy coach.
Thanks. Couldn't agree with your more.
You have got to be joking....were you even at any of the games.
That is like comparing a child abuser to a dad protecting his kids from someone.
The UALR coach is out there acting like an absolute jerk to HIS kids while Babb is out there trying to PROTECT his kids.
