We were up in the first base stands. Both coaches constantly yelled and pointed in the players' faces in plain site. At the college level, that needs to go on inside the dugout if at all. There is a difference between being a fired up coach and being an @$$ and both of these coaches were @$$es.

    Hey Bil,
Ask him to comment on the conduct of the ULAR coaching staff on sunday, if he can at all. I think our coaches have much more respect for our players to ever do anything like that.

man these coaches didnt go to the mound with a fungo bat and beat anyone!! Everyone just relax a little bit. These coaches are fighting a bad situation over there in the metro-plex of little rock. There is nothing wrong with coaches having passion and giving little Johnny a tounge lashing. it helps build character a little sometimes. Nobody must have been around back in the days of coach Jag cause that was an every week occurance. Kids now days have to be pushed and challenged, some more than others. I'd bet coach robe "challenges" his kids sometimes when he goes to the mound, maybe not quite as animated as what you sawthis weekend, but i am sure it happens.

You don't show up a 18-22 year old kid in front of thousands of fans, that aren't your fans especially. That stuff should be done in house. period.

I believe Robe would have a little more respect for his players as people and challenge his players behind closed doors in the locker room or in the dugout...not out on the mound for everyone to see. That was embarrassing for not only all the players on the field, but the entire coaching staff and shows they have no moral character what-so-ever. And in my opinion screaming in someones face until you're blue in the face helps zero in getting someone to buy into what you want them to do. Think about the people who will do ANYTHING for you in your everday life. Now think if you degraded them day after day treating them like dirt in front of everyone and intentionally embarrassed them everyday. Would you want to work hard for that person or would you do anything for the person that cared about you and fought WITH you in everything you did not against you. I don't believe motivation by fear is real motivation or motivation for the right reason. You may get someone to do what you ask them to, but I believe you will get more out of that person by winning their trust. And I don't think those coaches had one person on that field that respected them. I know I didn't.
