So my followup would be... "How do you fix that as coaches?"

    Bil,
Ask Robe who he believes he is getting good leadership out of right now and who he thinks he can count on? I'm curious if any of our current seniors are vocal or non-vocal leaders. I didn't like some of the lax at-bats yesterday. When an ump is calling strikes all over the place, and my club needs to get something going, I don't sit there with a bat on my shoulder hoping for something good to happen.

I'd really like to hear Robe say who is developing as a team leader(s) and is Robe putting out the challenge. Thanks!

Maybe ask how the coaching staff feels the team has come together. Obviously we are getting good production from the newcomers (Fuselier, Smith, etc), but do they feel like the upperclassmen are stepping up (leadership and production wise) or do they need to get better for this team to be consistent. It seems like there are a few guys that were here last year and before that aren't producing like before.

Can you get him to transcribe the cordial conversation he was having with the home plate ump yesterday.

If not then an update on injuries/status would be good.

Also ask him if there has been a change in philosphy regarding hitting since the change in coaches.

Great question about hitting philosophy. From watching the games, it doesn't appear that there has been much of a change. We still strike out at an alarming rate and we take way too many pitches.

The last at bat in the Sunday morning game where we struck out looking with bases loaded is a perfect snapshot of last year and this year. I was not there but heard Jay say that it was a horrible call, BUT when you have two strikes and need a clutch hit, you need to swing at just about anything. Instead of looking to be "the man", our hitters are looking to walk and to let someone else be the man. Call it fear, lack of confidence, whatever it is, it isn't good.

Robe has said Hawkins is day to day with mild concussion and a cut lip.
