After accepting an offer earlier this week to become the wide receivers coach at Rutgers, former UL assistant Brian Jenkins grabbed a flight to New Jersey to start his new job.
The loss of Jenkins, who spent the past seven years as the special teams coordinator and running backs coach for the Cajuns, will leave UL a little short-handed for spring drills.
Jenkins announced he was leaving for Rutgers on Wednesday, the first day of spring practice for the Cajuns. UL returned to the field for its second spring practice on Friday - and its first without Jenkins on the staff since he arrived in 2002.
