OMG. I am totally shocked! I agree they need to be thorough, accurate, etc (you know, crossing all T's, dotting all I's); but really, how tough can this be. Especially WRT the women's program. Geez!
I am imagining Walker pouring over game tape to see how we did this year. I will save him the trouble...we stunk! We were inept on offense and clueless in the half-court set. Done! Now fire the coach!
Pretty easy answer if they are truly doing it for success in the future.
If they are reviewing our coaches then who is dotting i's and crossing t's
Great Question! Maybe Shivaun from ticketing is handling the i's and t's while Walker is diligently going over every gut-wrenching loss. You realize we had some injuries this year so maybe Walker can blame our assistant trainers for the poor season. I hear they are cheaper to replace.
Just my opinion, but I think Walker is looking for any possible reasons to keep both coaches another year and not have to buy out their contracts. Only if he can't justify that will they be fired or allowed to resign. Otherwise, this should be a slam dunk decision on both coaches. Both have done to our programs what Baldwin did in football. Keeping them another year will result in extremely low attendance, lost revenue, demoralized fans, recruiting problems, and simply another major setback for our once proud basketball tradition. And Walker should take some of the heat for this debacle for giving Lee a 2 year extension for a mediocre year last year and a first round conference tournament loss at home, a feat duplicated this year.
I wonder if lee submitted the Troy game with 20 different jerseys photo shopped on the troy team...
If you listened to Jay yesterday on NBC, I think he gave some good points as to the timeframe of hearing anything about the change. I really don't care when it occurs as long as its the right decision. Basketball season has a ways from being over and many coaches will not leave their institutions until then. So I understand the logic in not creating a hole now and having to wait a month or longer to fill it which looks worse in my opinion. I want a change like everybody else but I think it looks better to release them of their duties once we have viable candidates out there so we can fill the hole rather quickly.
I'd love to listen, but you know that radio signal isn't too strong. And I can't do streaming at the office.
