Lance Kelly can play almost anywhere............
From my understanding we are pretty deep at WR. Maybe this is a Desormeaux situation where Kelly just wants to get on the field and Coach Bustle agrees so he's moving him to the D. I hope he gains a few lb's though, from what I recall he was a little thin.
He's the Johns kid we didnt get(LSU signee). Very intelligent, good athlete, will be able to call the signals in the secondary.
IF correct, might be a Good move.

Z, I think this is the best move for Kelly over the long haul, but he would have made a larger contribution this year on offense. Having said that I think it is the best move all around.
Also he is around 205# so I do not think he is to thin. He could actually bulk up to 215 or 220 in a year or two and could be a prototypical NFL safety prospect.
I hope to see him at receiver next season, we could use his athleticism on offense.
I wonder if this move is because Gerron Blount is having grade troubles like in the past. Blount was unable to participate last spring because of grades.
Grades have no bearing whatsoever when it comes to practicing. It may prevent one from playing during the season but they can practice all year long.
IMO if Kelly is that great of a playmaker then I am glad to see him move to the definsive side of the ball. We need more playmakers on defense.
Coach Bustle and I talked about the move today. Lance had been interested in moving over to safety for a while. Both he and the coaches agreed that it would be a chance for him to get on the field more often and contribute, especially with so many receivers in the mix.
Lance should be good for a few picks.
Great hands.

Does Lance have any previous experience at safety?
