Thread: Failed rally completes UL's frustrating season

  1. UL Basketball Failed rally completes UL's frustrating season

As UL forward Tyren Johnson watched the last-second 3-pointer leave the hands of teammate Randell Daigle, he expected the ball to go into the basket.

Johnson's hope for a thrilling win was dashed Wednesday as Daigle missed the go-ahead 3 in the final seconds. After grabbing the rebound, Florida International center Freddy Asprilla got fouled and hit one of two free throws to make it a three-point game.

On UL's final possession, Daigle was fouled before getting off a 3 with two seconds left. He made the first free throw and purposely missed the second, but FIU hauled in the rebound as time expired.

No the foul was called on the floor. It coulda gone either way as a 2 or 3 ft IMO. But it didnt go our way. There was still i think 6 seconds left so FIU may have had time for one last shot and the way our D played that night, im sure they woulda made it.
