Was when you got after Otha Peters on Twitter over it in his first week here.

Man, we really can be jack*sses when we want to be over this.

    I surrender.

Please tell me they did not start this name mess with Otha. He's a kid.

    C'Mon Man!

Which is it? You guys _____ about the players not using the right name, _____ about the admin, _____ about other fan bases..

Either do something about it or shut the ____ up. I read what the dude said to him. Something to the affect of the brand is Louisiana. Not a big deal.

I would think better of you JL, than to come "tell Ragin Pagin" on the guys post.

Explain this please. If someone simply told Otha that we like to refer to ourselves as Louisiana... so what? If they chastised him... "that" would be the only story. But, we need to isolate these kind of "situations" to the individual that may have taken it too far... and cut out these mass condemnations of people that promote our athletic brand name.

Damn guys...leave the players alone. Let the seniors on the team take care of it!

I have no problem with ppl educating the players, as long as it's done with tact. It's not freakin wrong to tell ppl what the school prefers to be called!! Some of the players wouldn't know other wise if no one brings it to their attention.

The guy went on to wish Otha good luck and "I'm sure you'll make Louisiana proud".

There was absolutely nothing wrong with what took place.

I love how some people want a battle with the name but will not use the correct logo with avatar, can't have it both ways.

Otha Peters was recruited and camped at UL, he knows what we call ourselves. He played out of state for two seasons and that is how they refer to our program. Just saying.....

Twitter has this neat feature called "DM"... in other words, get a room and don't make an *** of ourselves in public over this.

This doesn't move the "name" cause forward. It makes us look obsessive, petty, and like we have no social filter to understand how to behave.

If you're tweeting athletes you don't know with anything other than "Congratulations," you're not using good judgement.

This is dumb. And it happens all the time.

"ULL" is not poison. Damn. Dude's going to be a beast here. This sets the name battle back. It does not move the ball forward.

Get p*ssed when we bend to opposition and don't use "Louisiana" in our own stadium. Politely request ESPN announcers use Louisiana (and quickly get over it when they don't). Call the Advocate and ask for the change.

But gee whiz... you gonna go after Otha?

Man... if that's how we're going to fight the battle, I don't want to fight it. That's just ridiculous.

We got a freaking all-american here, and before his first weekend in Cajun Country, he gets publicly called out over an "L." Welcome to Cajun Country. I still can't even believe my eyes.

If we could fill our team with 5 star All Americans and win the national championship - but each player would use the "L," many of you would rather drag your happy butts to New Orleans to play freaking Air Force at 10 in the morning in a game nobody outside of Acadiana gives a crap about.

All because of an "L." White flag waived. That's not the type of fight I thought I was in.
