That would be totally unacceptable and I hope doesn't happen. UL will lose a lot of fans if they keep him another year, including me, for basketball. That would also be indicative of no changes over the previous administration and would be a morale killer for alumni and fans, not to mention the negative effect on recruiting.
Should he be fired? Yes.
Will he be fired? No.
And with that, I move on and look forward to the 2009-2010 season.
It's been TOO long since we went to the dance.
YES
I don't know what to think will happen. I know he needs to go, but on the other hand, this university gives me NO reason to believe that they will actually go through with this tough decision.
Will believe it when I see it!!
The sad thing is that we are even having this discussion. Whats even sadder than that is that we are part of an thletic dept with the second highest student body enrollment in the state and we cant afford to buy one year of a coaches contract. To me that is unexceptable. Until we can afford to run an athletic dept, we will continue to be mediocre athletic dept. I see this as a domino effect throughout the entire athletic dept.
Unfortunately, this will be the case for the most part because we are hampered by the lack of state funds provided. We cannot buy coach Lee out with funds appropriated through the state meaning his buyout along with Errol Rodgers buyout would have to come through private funding. So for everyone out there that continues to bang on the administration, it is actually going to come down to how many of us put up and shut up about the administrations lack of guts in such matters.
