The situation becomes even more complicated because of the current state of the women's basketball program. The Cajuns have gone 11-49 in two years under former Mississippi State assistant Errol Rogers.
UL went 3-27 this past season, including the program's first 0-18 showing in Sun Belt Conference action. That's two years after the program made the NCAA Tournament for the first time. But Rogers still has two years left on his contract, so a buyout or reassignment would be necessary to get a new coach.
