In today's Advocate Sports under UL Lafayette, there are 3 important references to Louisiana:
1. Southern vs. Louisiana
2. SBC teams and records using LOUISIANA in the standings
3. Used Louisiana Ragin Cajuns logo
Could this be a way of slowly transitioning to the Louisiana name?

I hope it is. If this continues, along with excellent, pertinent news, notes, bulletins and articles, they (Advocate and staff) will quickly progress here and have the chance to win the area over simply by calling us by our "brand name" accompanying their UL sports coverage.
Every time somebody points out someone using "Louisiana" on here, it prompts other people to send emails complaining about the use of Louisiana. Just saying, except for CBS, it always gets changed shortly after being posted on here. If it's what we want to be called, and you believe it's what we should be called... No reason to point it out every time someone gets it right. I don't ever thank people for calling me my name after I introduce myself. If your name is john, do you thank everyone for not calling you steve?
Then we will quickly see if the Advocate buckles to any pressure or continues to use Louisiana in a limited form. It is time for all of this cat and mouse crap to end. We use Louisiana on our stadiums, uniforms, video boards, fields, media releases, websites, and our local newspaper calls us Louisiana and UL. Everybody knows what we call ourselves. There are no secrets out there. Time to quit walking on egg shells. Let's see what the Advocate does.
Not trying to argue, but it's amusing to say that fans advocating for the use of Louisiana is ineffective because opposing fans advocate against the use of Louisiana.
I truly believe the efforts of everyone including militant UL fans was beginning to make a difference right up until the moment our President soiled his undergarments and caved to Bruno which led to the conference naming convention fiasco.
Edit: And to give credit those efforts were also led by Jay, Turbine, and CajunT. These media outlets helped spread the word in a more subtle way than those used by many of us. But they were being quietly effective.
Just saying people can read, the more attention you draw to it, it's like a surprise. Look what they called us? What, our name? Anyone who clicks on it can read it, but by making it a big deal, you are leading the opposers directly where they need to go. They will never leave it alone because we won't. We won't even leave it alone when it's what we want. That's what antagonist do, we have some on this board who would do the same exact thing to someone else. It's jmo, but as long as we make it a big deal at every turn, so will they. You know when your brother leaves you alone? When you leave him alone, he becomes bored with it once you are no longer bothered by it.
